Hello Hartnell Little League Families,

We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe during this unprecedented and difficult time.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are faced with hardships that have been life changing for all of us.  We are all in this together and we will get through this together!

At this time Monterey County remains under a Shelter-in-place order until May 31st.  It is still unknown if this order will be lifted or extended into June.  Because of the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hartnell Board of Directors, in accordance with District 9 Little League has made the difficult decision to officially cancel the 2020 spring little league season.

We are all saddened by this reality and would love nothing more than to watch our kids play baseball right now.  It is for the love of our children and the positive impact that little league baseball can have on them that as a league we strive to provide them with the best experience possible.

Although we understand that the 2020 spring season is lost, we, along with District 9 Little League are planning for a 2020 Fall Ball Season.  This potential season will begin after our kids return to school in the fall and finish toward the end of October.  This fall ball season will only be possible if our Monterey County Health Officials authorize the resumption of youth sports.  Whether or not this will happen remains unknown but Hartnell Little League along with District 9 Little League has already begun to prepare and are ready to make it happen.  We will keep everyone informed with developments regarding this potential season.

We understand that COVID-19 has had a negative financial impact on many families and are taking that into consideration as we plan for our refund policy and procedure for the 2020 spring season.  An announcement regarding our refund policy is forthcoming.

We thank all of you for your patience and understanding with this unprecedented situation.  The success of Hartnell Little League is due to the love and support of our families.  Everything we do is in support of providing a positive experience for our kids.  Be safe and take care.
